AniTX operates the website "AniTX" at anitx.co. We take your privacy seriously. To better protect your privacy, we provide this privacy policy notice explaining the way your personal information is collected and used.
Summary; Good to Know
- We don't sell your data. We don't sell your personal information. AniTX business model is subscription-based which can be found at anitx.co/premium.
- We respect your decision. Account deletion will delete every data generated from your account that can be traced back using your user id.
- We limit the information we store. We only store the information that is necessary for the specific purpose.
Data we collect
Data you provide us
- Account Information: When you sign up for AniTX, we store your email address, username, and webauthn credentials (publickey). We also store your public IP address and the time of your account creation.
- Post Creation: This includes posts, replies, media uploads, and other content you post on AniTX.
- Engagement: Such as following, liking, rementioning, and other interactions with other users.
- Payment Information: If you purchase a subscription we use third-party payment processors Lemon Squeezy to handle payments. We do not store your payment information on our servers such as (last 4 digits of your card, cardholder name, etc) as it is unnecessary for us to store it.
- Additional Information: You may choose to provide us with additional information such as content reporting, topic request submissions, and other information.
- Logging: We log some of your account activity and service error from your action such as (internal server error, changing username, failed upload request, etc) to help you upon support request and, improve system by monitoring for unexpected errors or system abuse. This logging data includes function name, non-sensitive payload, and developer-only note; the log does NOT include your public IP address and user agent to respect your privacy.
Data we collected automatically
- Engagement (metric counter): Fully anonymized data for engagement counters such as post views, topic views, and profile views. These have no relation with your user id and cannot be traced back to you except temporary key value pairs of (user_id with (post_id/user_id/topic_id)) that will be live for 48 hours for the purpose of preventing engagement fraud or manipulation.
- Web Analytics: We use GDPR compliant analytics tools to collect anonymized data about your visit to our website for the purpose of understanding daily/weekly traffic and device or browser type to prioritize the development workload.
Your data, your rights
- Data Deletion: You can request to delete your account and all the data associated with it. We will delete every data generated from your account that can be traced back for deletion from user id. This can be done through your account settings inside "danger zone" from below the first page.
- The data that will not be deleted are counter based metrics such as post views, topic views, and profile views that doesn't belongs to your account as they are fully anonymized and cannot be traced back to you. Data such as post likes, saves, replies and other engagement will be deleted as they are tied to your user id.
Data we can't remove
There are certain data that we can't or unable to remove due to technical complexity reasons. These data are:- Your engagement with the polls (votes), which is tied by UserID and PostID. Since your account no longer exists, a placeholder account will be used instead with UserID 0 when responding to API requests. Your original UserID will still be stored in the database but will never be served to the API responses.
How we disclose your data
- Compliance with Laws: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process, such as in response to a court order or a subpoena (including in response to public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements).
- Emergency: We may also disclose your information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Service or this Policy, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
- Our Vendors: We may share your information with our payment processor vendors, Lemon Squeezy for the purpose of handling payments, which only includes information you provided to them and we only share user id with them for the purpose of identifying the user.
International data transfers
We primarly store and process data in the European Union, we may transfer data to other countries outside of the European Union. We will ensure that data transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or binding corporate rules.Data retention
